Duplicate an existing event (Duplicate event)

Duplicate an existing event (Duplicate event)

To create a new event, you can also duplicate an existing event from your account. This will copy all contents and settings – as well as optionally the guests – from the template.

Use duplication for recurring events that have identical or very similar invitation processes. Once an event is set up in Invitario, it can be duplicated and updated with new data with just a few clicks. This is the fastest way to set up an event.

1. Select event

To duplicate an event, go to your Account and click on Events. The duplication icon can be found in the action menu of each event – located on the far right of the event row and symbolized by three dots. The status of the event to be duplicated does not matter.

2. Update data with the help of the Event Wizard

The data of the event to be duplicated will be displayed and can be changed. The event name will automatically be appended with (Copy). If you want to also copy the guests from the template, check the box for Copy guest list for the new event. When copying guests, the registration status and any entries in the event's individual fields will be reset.

3. Complete duplication

Click the Duplicate event button to complete the process. The new event will immediately appear in the event list. You can now open and further edit the event.

Tip for more efficiency: To make working with duplicated events even more efficient, using macros is advisable. For practically all data relevant to an event, you can insert macros (substitution variables) in mailings, forms, and event websites – these replace the hard-coded information such as event name, location, and date. The set macros pull data from the event settings and update automatically with any changes.

This is also true when you duplicate an event and adjust the key data. Using macros ensures that the data is updated everywhere and you do not need to manually update information.
