You can use “Dynamic contents” to show/hide different content blocks to/from specific guest categories on websites and in mailings or mailing subject lines.
Integrating dynamic contents
If, for example, you wanted to create a multilingual website or mailing, you would need to create a dynamic content element with all of the relevant text’s language versions as an independent content block and add this block to the website or mailing as a macro (with the “Macros - Contents” editor).
Using “Dynamic contents”, you will also no longer have to create multiple versions of a mailing that contains multiple versions of a single text (e.g. invitation texts for customers, journalists and employees). Instead, this feature allows to create a dynamic content element with all of the text’s different versions as an independent content block and add it to the mailing.
You can also use dynamic contents to create session calendars showing all or only some of your event’s sessions, or event calendars with all or only some of the events from your account.
You can also use “Dynamic contents” for contents you want to display at several points on a website or a mailing. This will save you having to create and edit these contents multiple times at these points.
“Dynamic contents” can also be used in external websites. The code for embedding them in external websites is displayed in the relevant dynamic content element. Any changes to this content will also be automatically shown in the externally embedded elements.
Displaying dynamic contents
Open > Dynamic contents in your event to view the list of dynamic contents.
The “Used” column in the list will show how often a particular dynamic content has been embedded. Click on the “... in use” link to be shown where this content is embedded.
To edit dynamic content, click on the name of the element. n des Elements.
To create new dynamic content, click on the
“Content” symbol or duplicate an existing element.
Category-dependent or conditional dynamic contents
“Dynamic contents” operate on the single-choice principle, which means that only ever one content block will be shown, regardless of whether guests are part of multiple categories.
In the case of guests who are part of several categories, the order in which content blocks are shown is also important, because they will only be shown the first of all of the content blocks they match.
We recommend making the bottom content block unconditional, i.e. not category-dependent, and use it as a fallback option. When sending out mails in particular, this will prevent guests who have not been assigned to any categories from being presented with a blank email. These guests will then be shown the bottom, non-category-dependent, content block.
The preview will show all of the content blocks stacked below each other. You can use the preview to check the page contents for a specific guest by entering the guest’s name in the input field directly above the preview. Make sure that the guest is part of at least one of the categories you selected, because you will otherwise not be shown any of the content blocks.
