Deletion periods

Deletion periods

When are participant data deleted?
  1. During an ongoing contract, Invitario does not independently delete any data in an account or within an event. In terms of GDPR, the owner of an Invitario account is responsible for the personal data stored in it, such as the master data of the participants. Therefore, the account owner is referred to as the data controller in the GDPR. Invitario allows its users to have unrestricted management of all data stored in an account or event.
  2. The administrator of the Invitario account (as well as other roles) thus has full decision-making and control over the processing of the stored personal data at any time. This includes the ability to export all data as well as to anonymize or completely delete selected or all data of an event and/or the account. The advantages of anonymization over complete deletion can be found in this article.
  3. If you wish to delegate the deletion of data to our user support, we can do so upon written instruction from an authorized person known to us. This can be done by sending an email with a detailed description to support@invitario.com.
  4. At the end of the contract period, the account will be closed. If no instructions are received from the data controller, all data in the account will be irrevocably deleted by Invitario 30 days after the account is closed. After another 30 days, the data will no longer be included in the ongoing backups that we keep on a rolling basis for a period of 30 days. All data is encrypted and can only be restored by Invitario.
